LASER HAIR REMOVAL

An intense beam of light is penetrated into the skin. It is then converted to heat that is absorbed by the targeted hair follicle, which causes damage to the hair but not the surrounding skin. The GentleMax cooling system makes the process even less painful and more comfortable.

A hand piece delivers a laser pulse into the targeted areas on your skin, and a controlled amount of therapeutic heat safely and effectively damages the hair follicles. Treatments take anywhere from a few minutes to about an hour, depending on the area being treated.

Slight redness and swelling that may last a few hours is common. In some cases, discomfort or small red bumps may last up to two days.

There’s a safe, effective and comfortable gentle treatment option for every skin tone. Consult with your physician about the best treatment for your individual needs.

You’ll need several treatments to get optimal results. That’s because hair grows in three stages. The hairs on your body are not always at the same stage, so you’ll need to undergo a minimum of 6-8 treatments, on an average of 4-6 weeks apart, to detect all of them in the growth stage.

Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before treatment. Do not bleach, pluck or wax 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatment. Wait for tanned skin to fade before beginning treatment. Sunscreen should always be used after treatment.

All hair is temporarily disabled during each treatment. None of the hair follicles are removed; hence, a sequence of treatments is necessary in order for results to become apparent. The number of times needed also varies from person to person.

-It is important to let your nurse know if you are pregnant, have allergies, have been tanning, or are taking any medications. These all may affect your candidacy for laser hair removal treatment.

-Please arrive 10- 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment if you are a new patient, or if you need to discuss any changes in your health.

-For laser hair removal treatments, you will need to cleanly shave the area that you plan to have treated. Do this the night before your scheduled treatment for best results.

The only time we require you to shave is the night prior to your appointment. We ask that you wait 7-10 days after your treatment before shaving.

Typically, 6-8 treatments are recommended, but it may be more or less depending on each individual.

Hair grows in cycles, typically 4-6 weeks depending on the part of the body.
